6 months tourist visa to Russia since August 24, 2021
On May 26, 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law No. 145-FZ dated May 26, 2021 "On Amending Article 25-6 of the Federal Law" On the Procedure for Exiting the Russian Federation and Entry into the Russian Federation ".
According to the amendments, an ordinary tourist visa is issued for a period of up to six (6) months to a foreign citizen entering the Russian Federation as a tourist, if he has confirmation of admission by an organization, information about which is contained in the Unified Federal Register of Tour Operators, or booking confirmation of hotel or other accommodation facilities, information about which is contained in a single list of classified hotels, ski slopes, beaches. http://publication.pravo.gov.ru/Document/View/0001202105260039?index=0&rangeSize=1
Attention!!! This Federal Law comes into force upon the expiration of ninety days after the day of its official publication. This means that you can get a visa on confirmation of hotel booking only after August 24, 2021.
This law applies to citizens of any country in the world, regardless of the adopted visa regime for Russian citizens.
Also, to stay 180 days in Russia, you will have to confirm your hotel reservation, which means you have to pay for it for the entire period of stay. If you plan to stay in Russia for 180 days and at the same time rent an apartment, then it would be better to use an invitation from an organization, information about which is contained in the unified federal register of tour operators.
